Renewed, Refreshed, and Ready for What’s Next ✨

This month I officially renewed my cosmetology license—something I’ve been proud to hold since 2010. Every time renewal comes around, it reminds me just how far I’ve come, how much I’ve grown, and how grateful I am to still be doing what I love most: creating beautiful, healthy hair and building confidence behind the chair.

When I first graduated from the Douglas J Aveda Institute, I had big dreams but no idea just how much this career would shape my life. Over the years, I’ve met countless clients who’ve become friends, taught classes as a national salon educator, traveled for shows and training, and spent hours mastering everything from color corrections and blonding to Brazilian Blowouts, keratin, and smoothing treatments. The industry has changed so much since 2010, but one thing has never changed—my passion for helping people feel their best.

Renewing my license is more than just checking a box. To me, it’s a reflection of commitment. Commitment to my craft, my clients, my community, and the standard of excellence that keeps me pushing forward. Every head of hair that sits in my chair is a new opportunity to create, connect, and transform.

Lessons Learned Since 2010 💇‍♀️

✨ Healthy hair comes first. Beautiful color or a sleek Brazilian Blowout means nothing if the hair isn’t strong and cared for. Protecting the integrity of my clients’ hair will always be my top priority.

✨ Education never stops. New techniques, products, and technologies are always emerging. Staying curious and investing in education keeps my work fresh and exciting.

✨ Every client has a story. I’ve learned that hairstyling is about so much more than what happens in the mirror—it’s about connection, listening, and building confidence.

✨ Patience is powerful. From major color corrections to smoothing transformations, real results take time. Trusting the process is key.

✨ Passion fuels everything. Loving what I do shows up in every highlight, blowout, and conversation behind the chair.

As I move into this next chapter of my career, I’m more excited than ever to continue learning, growing, and providing the best possible service to everyone who walks through my door—whether you’re from East Lansing, Michigan State University, Okemos, Haslett, Lansing, DeWitt, or Grand Ledge.
